Diana Reed

Senior Public Affairs Executive

Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Diana grew up a Navy brat and spent her formative years crisscrossing the country from air station to air station with her father finally retiring in California.

She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from California State University Chico.

In 1984 Diana joined Hoechst-Roussel Pharmaceuticals as a sales representative in northern California.  She worked in sales and marketing for nine years and then moved into the Government Relations Department as a lobbyist.  Diana lobbied in the states of California, Hawaii and Nevada.  In 1996, a company merger brought her to Pennsylvania where she handled government relations for Hoechst Marion Roussel and covered the states of Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and District of Columbia.

In 1999, Diana moved to Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals in a similar position.  In early 2003 she joined a Hershey public relations firm, Cullari Communications Group, handling patient advocacy outreach for several pharmaceutical clients.  In late 2005, Diana joined Amylin Pharmaceuticals with legislative and regulatory responsibility for Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin.

Two weeks after joining the company, Diana was informed that Amylin would be placing a small facility in Ohio.  After eight months of negotiations with the state and local municipalities, that “small facility” is now growing into a $500M manufacturing facility with future estimates of over 500 employees.
