Dr. Grauer is the Global Executive Medical Director for New Technology Development for Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals. He is an Internist and Endocrinologist by training with a long-standing scientific interest in metabolic bone diseases. He joined Procter &Gamble Pharmaceuticals1999 and since held several R&D positions with European, North-American and global responsibilities. Recently he moved from his role as the Global Medical Director of the Musculoskeletal Category to take over the global leadership of P&G’s efforts to find and evaluate in-licensing opportunities for new pharmaceutical compounds, devices and diagnostics.
Dr. Grauer received his medical education at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School at the Hammersmith Hospital in London, UK and his subsequent clinical training at the University of Heidelberg. He performed part of his postdoctoral research during a fellowship in Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, USA. Dr. Grauer is an active member of numerous scientific societies around the world, has authored approximately 100 manuscripts and book chapters in the field of endocrinology and metabolic bone diseases and has received multiple national and international research awards for his work. Since 1997, he is holding a faculty appointment as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
